Azerbaijan is a signatory country to the Hague (Apostille) Convention since March 01, 2005 when the Republic of Azerbaijan joined the 1961 Hague Convention abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Public Documents. The convention provides for the simplified certification of public (including notarized) documents to be used in these countries have joined the Apostille Convention, by use of a special form called an “apostille” in certifying the document.
